broad range of professional health care services
in the comfort of your home.
Home
health care can benefit patients in many ways:
- Provides quicker recovery time – typically, patients
recover faster at home.
- Provides conveniences – patients regularly can have
scheduled visits without leaving home.
- Provides privacy – Patients are in their homes rather
than an office or exam room.
- Provides comfort – Patients are in a familiar and safe
place.
- Cost effective – Home health care usually is less
expensive compared with long-term hospital
or nursing home stays.

Our
staff consists of registered nurses, licensed
practical nurses and home health aides. We also
provide the services of specialized
professionals, such as physical, speech and
occupational therapists and dieticians.
Hospice
Hospice
care can be provided in your private home, in a long
term care facility, assisted living or board and lodge,
or in a residential hospice house such as Birchwood.
Services are provided by a medically directed
interdisciplinary team of professionals and volunteers.
Bereavement care is also available to the family
following the death of their loved one.
Hospice
eligibility criteria includes a 6 month or less life
expectancy and the individual is no longer seeking
curative treatment. Individuals may stay in the program
as long as they continue to meet this criteria, which
may exceed 6 months. Hospice is appropriate for any
end stage illness (i.e cancer,
dementia, heart, kidney, lung or liver disease).
